| 2004 Winnebago Sightseer Description |
Yes, the mileage listed above is correct.
Items of interest: --The motorhome has been stored on a concrete drive next to our house. --During the off –season or when we were not on a trip, I drove the motorhome every ten days to two weeks, to bring the engine and transmission up to operating temperature. The fuel tank was kept at ¾ to full. --The generator was also started and run regularly to keep fresh gas in the carburetor and to run the air conditioner and other items that run on 110 volts ac. (During December 2006, the generator was run a total of 21.5 hours to provide electricity for our house during an ice storm). --The water system was always winterized in the fall for winter storage and drained, flushed, and sanitized in the spring for camping use. --The water pump was run regularly in the spring, summer, and fall to ensure operation and to ensure the faucets worked properly. --The hot water heater was turned on regularly during the summers to ensure proper operation. --Each fall and spring I washed and waxed the exterior. --The awning was extended to dry and for cleaning on a regular basis during the spring, summer, and fall. --The camper’s furnace was run during winter to insure that everything worked. --The refrigerator was run regularly on AC and LPG to insure it cooled properly. --The slideout and the hydraulic leveling jacks were extended and retracted on regular basis to ensure proper operation.
Why such low mileage? We purchased the motorhome to take short trips to visit relatives and to camp at a campground at Lake Carlyle, Illinois, which is 40 miles from our home.
Why is the motorhome for sale? In May of 2008, I developed a heart condition. (believe it or not…this is true!) . My wife is very nervous about me driving the motorhome and then becoming ill while we are away from home. She does not drive the motorhome. We also have certain obligations with our family and grandchildren since the spring of 2006 that reduced and will limit the trips taken and distance from home. This is not a “fire” sale…we do not have to sell the motorhome but will accept a reasonable offer. If you are interested in viewing and/or purchasing this unit, you may contact us at our home phone…217-277-4019.
