Vehicle Description
Truly a RARE find in a one owner "Class A Motor Coach" !!!

This coach was purchased April 15th, 2005 and has been taken care of as if it were a million dollar coach ... being serviced using the "extreme use" guidelines as specified by the "Good Sam CSP" plan presently in force on the coach ... I have had the majority of service/repair work performed by the "American Coach Factory Service Center" in Decatur, IN (home of the American Coach manufacturing facility) for coach issues and either by "Cummins of Nashville" or "Neely Coble Freightliner" (both located in Nashville, TN ... our home base) for all normally scheduled servicing or repairs to the chassis and drive train.

The coach is powered by a Cummins ISL-370 diesel engine with an Allison 6 speed automatic transmission. It does have a two stage (low or high) electronic "exhaust" braking system that saves tremendous wear on the wheel braking system. The self contained electric power supply is provided by an Onan "Cummins" diesel generator that will power the entire coach under full load capacity. Both the 370HP main engine and generator share their fuel supply from a centrally located 125 gallon diesel tank.

ALL service record copies are available from the present owner and will go with the coach for a complete history to the new owner.

There are numerous upgrades on this particular coach ... I will do my best to point out as many of the individual factory and after market improvements as I can recall. Since this is a "new" listing ... I am sure it will be revised regularly until I feel that everything that should be listed is ... or please feel free to contact me and ask any particular question about whether this coach has any of the special amenities you are searching for in the motor coach you plan on purchasing.

The main leveling system for the coach operates either by heavy duty air pump to the individual air bags that are part of the suspensions system ... or hydraulically can be operated automatically (where the system dumps air out of the air bags to lower the coach and then starts to auto level on the 4 jacks) or manually you can adjust each of the 4 main jacks for special fine tuning in case you are in a really unusual parking situation. I have a "bubble" level gage that I keep handy and place on the dash and kitchen counter after the system has leveled itself and have very rarely seen the need to slightly adjust manually any of the jacks. There was a "quiet" recall at the factory service center the 1st year of ownership where owners of other American Coaches (all models) felt both the hydraulic jacks and jack pads where not large enough to fully stabilize and hold the coach level for long periods of time. We had not had any problem with the factory's original equipment hydraulic jacks or jack pads ... but, the service center went ahead at my request and upgraded all 4 of the hydraulic jacks and jack bases to a heavier duty model at no charge. When the coach is properly leveled you can tell it is very solidly on the ground and the bathroom door opened in different positions is the best way to truly test the levelness of the coach.

There are two electronic key fobs which enable you to lock (or unlock) the entry door as well as turn on (or off) the security system once you have exited the coach. There is also a switch inside conveniently located close to the entry door and another switch easily accessable while in bed to lock or unlock the entry door ... which also turns on or off the security system at the same time.

There are three entertainment areas, all with upgraded electronics from what is shown in the "American Tradition" brochure as standard equipment ...

1. Living Area ... 32" Sony Flat Panel Plasma TV with a Sony "Compact AV Surround Sound System" with 5 speakers properly placed for the best sound in the living area and a separate bass woofer hidden in living area cabinetry. The sound system includes an "AM/FM Radio, 5 CD or DVD player". There is also a Sony VCR player connected to this entertainment system. The in-dash radio (used conveniently both while driving or fully set up for living in) is an "AM/FM Radio, 6 CD changer with SIRIUS Satellite Radio" combined in one unit and plays though the "AV Sound System" that will also fill the entire living area with incredible music. Both sound systems in the living room can also be played (with an easily accessable ON/OFF switch above the bed) through hidden speakers in the bedroom cabinetry.

There is a "Direct TV" satellite system with an "auto-find satellite signal" dish located on the roof of the coach. You have the option of watching satelliteTV, air TV, a VCR, a DVD, etc. on all three TV's at the same time ... or just one of the above on different TV's ... all at the same time. The "Direct TV" satellite signal offers "XM Radio" as part of the channel line up so you definitely have the availability to all that's offered via satellite signal programming today.

2. Bedroom ... 23" Sony WEGA LCD flat panel TV

3. Outdoor Entertainment Area ... 20" Sony Trinitron WEGA flat screen TV with separate radio/amplifyer and speaker system that also offers an "AM/FM Radio and CD player".

The road side living area leather sofa has a "Queen" sized air mattress that easily blows up to the desired firmness of your guests. It has been mentioned to us on numerous occassions just how comfortable the "Queen" bed sleeps. The entry door side leather sofa pulls down and can very comfortably sleep one adult or two children. The bedroom has a "Queen" size pillow top mattress to ensure a good night's sleep.

The dining table has two upholstered side chairs that more than comfortably accomodates two people ... but, you can unlock and extend the dining table top to accomodate four for dinner with the two upholstered folding chairs normally hidden in the large cedar lined and lighted bedroom closet.

Although the living area is carpeted for comfort ... the entry steps are "Corian" as are the kitchen counter tops. The kitchen sink is a double welled stainless steel model with a "Moen" faucet. The stove top is a gas three (3) burner with full heat control on the large front burner. Above the cooktop is a GE Convection/Microwave Oven. The refrigerator/freezer is a 4 door luxury model (2 refrigerator doors and 2 freezing compartments) with an ice maker in one of the freezing compartments.

All cabinetry and trim throughout the coach is solid cherry. The flooring in the kitchen galley back through the bathroom and shower area is done in large ceramic tiles ... then carpeting again in the back bedroom area. Also, there is a 2 speed, reversable ceiling fan above the master bed for greater comfort and adds to the efficiency of the heat pumps air flow.

With four slides on the "L" model, there is plenty of square footage to live and move around in.

We have had installed after market only those items that would not detract from the basic beauty of this coach. We felt it important to help preserve the interior and to help the two roof mounted heat pump units with cooling the interior by tinting all the windows as we are in South Florida from fall through spring season and then head North for the summer season before returning back South every year. We used "Limo" tint for the bedroom and bathroom windows (for privacy) and also for the upper & lower brow of the windshield. What a tremendous difference that made for driving and glare issues. "20%" tint was used on all the other windows with the exception of the small vertical window the driver looks into his/her rear view mirror and that window was done in "30%" tint so night time mirror viewing would not be a challenge. As far as heating the interior of the coach, it has been very rare that we've experienced a cold front where the two heat pumps couldn't keep us comfortable ... but, there are two gas furnaces and when they are used they can run you out of the coach in no time at all as they are so efficient. Both the heat pumps and furnaces are controlled by one central digital thermostat.

We also installed special wire grids to cover the air inlet for the two gas furnaces to keep wasps (or other bugs) from having easy access to get inside and build nests without us being aware until it was too late ... but, still allow plenty of fresh air in that's necessary for the gas combustion chamber.

There are black carpet wraps around each of the two electronic steps that come out when the coach is not in motion. We found them to be extremely efficient in removing excess dirt, etc. from one's shoes if they are not removed before entering the coach ... plus they are easy to sweep clean or thoroughly rinse clean with a water hose whenever the coach is hand washed (this coach has never been through a commercial truck wash ... way too abrasive on the finish).

There is a full black vinyl (leather like) bra that can be installed to cover the front of the coach when traveling long distances and you want the extra protection from bugs, etc.

There are black mesh privacy screens that snap on to cover the outside glass areas of the full driver's window, entire front windshield (and windshield wiper wraps for UV protection), entry door and full passenger window. This black mesh allows you to have complete view through these windows by day bringing in plenty of natural light, blocking the sun's heat rays and not allowing outsiders to see inside your coach. At night for full privacy I would recommend pulling the inside curtains closed so no one could see inside since the lighting from the inside of the coach would make it possible for those on the outside to see in somewhat.

The 10 gallon water heater works on both electric or gas mode. When we are in a big rush to get ready, we simply push the water heater gas button on and we've never been without sufficient hot water for 3 us to shower, shave and go.

The "Splendide 2000S Washer/Electric Dryer" combo is Italian and sized for the European market ... but, we have found by doing a load every day that it is not a big chore to keep up with all the dirty laundry.

I've already mentioned that all the cabinetry and trim is solid cherry throughout the entire coach ... but, the drawer, shelving and closet space in both the living area and the bedroom area will amaze you as to how well it is laid out ... not to mention the bathroom where you really need under the sink and wall cabinetry for personal care items.

There are three roof mounted exhaust/ceiling fans (kitchen, bathroom, & shower areas) that have low, medium or high settings and also feature rain sensors to turn them off and close their lids automatically if needed.

There is a solar panel on the roof to help keep the house batteries charged if the coach is not plugged into an electrical outlet or the diesel generator is not running.

BTW ... I had six new high end batteries (two 12 volt for the chassis and four 6 volt deep cycle for the house circuits) installed on November 26th, 2007.

There is plenty of storage space both inside and under the living area as you have a large pass through area that is tightly sealed from the weather. Inside that storage area is a two section pull out drawer to make it easier to load and get to important items you use often ... as well as a couple more individual storage compartments below. Please take note that all underneath storage areas are well lighted for night time ease of use and are lockable for security of your personal belongings ... with the exception of the "LP Gas Tank" compartment not being lockable for safety reasons.

There are fresh water hoses & splitter, black/gray (sewage/shower) drainage hoses, chemicals necessary for the black water tank for control of odors, etc., a special electrical adaptor (two 30 amp plug ins that taper to one 50 amp receptical) when no 50 amp plug is available and you need full electrical power to the coach. Otherwise a single 30 amp adapter plug will allow you to plug in ... but, there will be limitations (no washer/dryer, 2 heat pumps & microwave use at the exact same time) that you will have no problem learning what you can and can not operate at the same time without tripping the incoming electrical circuit.

Professionally installed by the dealer at the time of the motor coach's purchase was a fully automatic, top of the line "Prodigy" electric brake controller for the times I have pulled an aluminum double axle car hauler with my full size half ton pickup loaded on the trailer or either pulled our double axled 16' enclosed Haulmark trailer. While pulling either trailer and load ... the coach's diesel engine's exhaust braking system (set on the low setting) still worked extremely well and it was seldom that I noticed the brake controller sending out more than "0.5" worth of braking force for the electric brakes on either trailer. It needs to be noted that when the axle and wheel systems on each trailer are inspected annually and the wheel bearings repacked ... the brakes still look practically brand new and it will be years before I need to replace the brake pads or turn the drums on either trailer.

I also had professionally installed by a reputable CB Shop a "Uniden CB Radio" that was tweaked for optimal reception and output ... but, will note that since the coach's factory installed CB radio antenna is roof (fiberglass cap) mounted with out metal available to ground the antenna to ... the output distance is not the same as if I had installed large exterior whip style CB antennas mounted from the rear view side mirrors ... and I simply did not want to detract from the overall aesthetics of the motor coach by installing those large large whip style antennas. Besides, I mainly monitor the CB while traveling to stay informed of traffic problems or alternate routing suggestions given by other truckers, etc. ... and the signal reception quality has not posed a problem at all for that purpose.

Both the "American Coach ... 2005 Eagle & Tradition" and "2005 American Tradition Floor Plan & Specifications" brochures from Fleetwood's American Coach Division will show you exactly what I mean by "plenty of storage space" as well as give you all the specifications to answer any questions you might have concerning this particular make and model. You will also be able to see more than I am able to picture with this ad just how beautiful and functional this coach really is. There is even a fully panaramic photo of the interior shown with both the "Keepsake" interior (leather/fabric/carpeting/tile flooring, etc.) and cherry cabinetry just as this coach is outfitted with. Both of these brochures are in "pdf file" format and can be opened for viewing without having to download them permanently onto your computer unless you so desire.

If you are a serious buyer, my full contact information is on file with this listing and I will be glad to answer any and all questions you might have as well as email as attachments in "pdf file" form both the "American Coach ... 2005 Eagle & Tradition" and "2005 American Tradition Floor Plan & Specifications" brochures.

We know you won't go wrong with this motor coach.

We have enjoyed it tremendously !!!
