When selling an RV through RV Search, you should be just as careful as if selling through your local newspaper.
Before you give away the keys or sign over the title, be sure to do the following:
Acquire and verify the buyer's address, phone number and e-mail address.
Be sure any payment by check clears prior to transferring the title or delivering the vehicle to the buyer. Even certified checks need some verification; call the issuing bank to confirm the validity of the check.
Consider using an escrow service such as Escrow.com to smooth the transition of goods between you and the buyer. You will be able to hold onto your vehicle until the money is received by the escrow service. If using a service other than Escrow.com, be sure to verify that it is reputable, as many internet scams involve fake escrow services; your Better Business Bureau and/or your attorney may be able to help with this. In addition, be sure you understand all the terms of any escrow agreement.
Don't allow yourself to be tempted by a deal that seems too good to be true, unless you have enough facts to assure yourself of a good result. Be skeptical, be smart, and you'll be successful.
